Which Teishin should I choose?

The Teishin is a needle-like instrument or probe that does not penetrate the skin, making it an excellent option for people who fear needles, especially for kids who are very sensitive.

The copper Teishin works excellently for sedating Qi, releasing evil Qi, and clearing heat. Brass is gentler than copper for sedating energy. Both Teishin are durable and sturdy, so you don’t have to worry about them bending, getting lost, or breaking. This makes them ideal tools for studying acupoints and practicing acupuncture techniques daily.

Pure silver works excellently for cleansing energy, releasing stagnation, and clearing heat. Gold is the best for tonification, especially for very weak patients, but we also use silver Teishin for tonification since gold is very expensive. The silver Teishin works great on points like Yintang, Taiyang, Baihui, and Ear Shenmen for calming the Shen. It is also an excellent massage tool for the face and eye areas, helping to release tension. Additionally, it is used to clear heat on the back. Patients love using this acupuncture tool—the technique is very gentle, and they find it comfortable and relaxing.

In Dashin technique, a small wooden mallet (that fits into the palm of the hand) strikes a Teishin needle placed on the abdomen. It is a traditional tool used in certain forms of Japanese.
